You have been emailing. You have been researching the best packages. You have been ruminating. You have been asking questions. You have been holding back on confirmations and deposits.
Now I want to explain why that could cause you to lose the entire trip.
You have been holding back because the normal way to book a holiday is to get international flights first.
But Eclipse 2027 is not a normal trip.
International Flights into Egypt
Many airlines have not yet released international schedules for August 2027. They will do so probably around 1 August 2026.
The Truth About Cairo International Airport
Cairo is a major metropolis and global gateway. You will always have multiple ways to get there, even if your preferred airline or departure airport sells out. There will be other routes, other airlines and other options.
(We can check if we have access to booking international flights for you now—just give me the name of your 3 preferred departure airports and dates)
International access is not what will determine whether you attend this eclipse in Luxor.
The real constraint is getting from Cairo to Luxor.
Even in normal times, flying between Cairo and Luxor can be difficult. Domestic capacity is limited. Now consider what happens if EgyptAir decides to open domestic flights a week or two before 1 August 2026 in order to avoid their reservation system being overwhelmed by everyone waiting for it to open on 1 Aug 2026.
On that day, thousands of people—both agents, tour operators and private individuals—will be trying to secure the same flights between Cairo and Luxor. Demand will hit the market all at once.
By the time international flight schedules are released, the domestic market between Cairo and Luxor could already be effectively sold out. At that point, even a perfect international itinerary may not help you. The result will be agents and independent travellers alike competing for a very small number of remaining seats.
That is why we secured charter aircraft for our guests.
A seat on a chartered flight is by far the safest option. It guarantees your journey from Cairo to Luxor for the eclipse. Everything else becomes easy.
However, charter seats are allocated only to those who have committed with a deposit. Once they are gone, they are gone.
We cannot operate additional aircraft unless they are commercially viable and sufficiently full. So there may come a point where we have accommodation, tours and eclipse arrangements available, but cannot confirm your booking until we know we can get you to Luxor and back again.
That is not a position I want you to find yourself in.
You have been emailing. You have been holding back. You have been ruminating.
It’s time to decide.
Whether you are booking one of our 2027 solar eclipse adventures or booking with someone else, get it confirmed this week and make sure your flights between Cairo and Luxor are included and guaranteed as part of the package.
I have looked at several eclipse packages already being marketed online and some are a minefield of small print, optional extras and “not included” clauses—and that is why they are so cheap. Some appear to me to be below cost even.
So I am going to say this as clearly as I can:
MAKE SURE YOUR INTERNAL FLIGHTS ARE GUARANTEED.
If you leave it too long, don’t be surprised if the decision is eventually made for you.
Doors close. Capacity disappears. And once those flights are gone, there is very little anyone can do about it.
