The strangest day ever – we left Cairo early in the morning but the day went on … forever… we arrived at Tel El Amarna tombs at exactly 15.55 and the journey included crossing the river in a boat that would have done an Indian Jones film proud.
This lovely couple celebrated their wedding at Mara House – and co-incidentially they arrived at the right time to help me through the grieving time for my mother who had just passed and, for some odd reason, I could not get a flight home to Ireland for the funeral in less than a week so I decided not to hold up proceedings in Ireland and stayed in Egypt.
While in Khan el Khalili looking for treasures for Mara House I met this lovely painter – bought that one and the portrait of a lady behind him.
