My overflow quotas are now filled, but a hopeful waiting list is open. I am working on other partial options but, — this is your final chance to try for a place in Luxor for the 2027 Solar Eclipse.

Update 25 Aug 2025 – Insider Tip:
I was chatting with colleagues in the tourism industry over the weekend, and we all agree: the 2027 eclipse is creating a perfect storm. Beds in Luxor, Aswan, Cairo, and the Red Sea are already tight in normal times, let alone for an eclipse event — and hotels are holding back on prices and contracts, hoping to see how high demand will push rates.
Those waiting to pay deposits are likely to get left behind. Tour operators/agents will fill their allocations from waiting lists first — and it’s the deposits that secure your place.
This isn’t speculation — it’s exactly how the Egyptian market is reacting.
✨ 2027 Solar Eclipse Egypt Tour — Limited Overflow Spots
⚠️ Mara House is already fully booked for the 2027 Solar Eclipse.
But I’ve pulled some strings and secured some extra rooms at a partner hotel in Luxor, available exclusively to my overflow guests, as well as a hotel in Cairo and a cruise boat.
That means:
-
You’ll still be with me, my family, and the full group for every experience.
-
You’ll stay in the same Cairo hotel and enjoy the same Nile Cruise.
-
You’ll tour all the same sites with my expert guides.
-
The only difference? Your hotel in Luxor.
👉 This arrangement is not available publicly — I’ve secured it privately through my personal connections. Once these limited rooms are gone, that’s it.
If you’ve been thinking of joining us for this once-in-a-lifetime journey, now is the moment to secure your place.

👉 “This itinerary includes three genuine PRIVATE VISITS — the kind of rare access most travelers never get. Be sure to read my explanation of the difference between Private Visits and Private Tours in Egypt. The two are not the same, and countless visitors are disappointed when they discover too late that what they booked wasn’t what they thought. Don’t make that mistake — these visits are the real thing.

✈️ A Note on Internal travel within Egypt
There is one main domestic flight operator and that is Egypt Air. There are two smaller carriers – Nile Air and Cairo Air. Trains – tourists are normally only allowed to travel on the overnight train and one other train. Tourists are allowed travel by privately hired car/bus for which travel permits are required, between the hours of 6am and 6pm. It will be essential to have internal transfers pre-booked for anyone travelling to Luxor for the 2027 eclipse as transport options are limited in normal times, let alone for such a huge event.
Between Cities
- Cairo to Luxor – plane and train.
- Cairo and Aswan – plane and train
- Cairo and Hurghada – plane, private car/bus, public bus
- Luxor and Hurghada – private car/bus, public bus
- Aswan and Hurghada – private car/bus
- Luxor and Sharm El Sheik – plane only via change at Cairo Airport.

Meet Mara
Hi, I’m Mara — the heart behind Mara House Luxor.
Over twenty years ago, I came to Egypt on an ordinary tour. It was enjoyable… but while it was not a deep, soul-stirring journey, I felt like I had come home. So I returned — and over time I created the kind of memorable experiences for you that I should have had first time.
What makes me different?
I don’t just want you to see Egypt — I want you to feel it, but even I am still learning. Through my blog and in person, I tell the stories behind the stones, so you can imagine the real people who once lived here, walked these temple floors, and shaped this extraordinary land. No made-up tales, no polished-over legends — just truth, heart, and a little magic.
Together with my small Egyptian team, I create honest, personal, unforgettable journeys — whether you’re here for a few days at Mara House or travelling across the country with us.
If you’d like help planning a meaningful and worry-free stay in Egypt, just drop me an email — I respond personally:
