Day 1 – July 27 – Arrive in Cairo, airport pickup, visa & transfer to hotel.
Day 2 – July 28 – Giza Plateau, private Sphinx visit, Grand Egyptian Museum, optional night at Khan El Khalili.
Day 3 – July 29 – Saqqara with Step Pyramid & Serapeum; evening private 2-hour visit inside the Great Pyramid.
Day 4 – July 30 – Civilization Museum and the Royal Mummies, fly Cairo → Luxor.
Day 5 – July 31 – Luxor West Bank: Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut’s Temple, Nobles’ Tombs, Medinet Habu & Workers’ Village.
Day 6 – Aug 1 – Day trip to Abydos & Dendera, with private visit to the Osirion.
Day 7 – Aug 2Solar Eclipse in Luxor; evening board Nile Cruise for dinner & overnight.
Day 8 – Aug 3 – Karnak & Luxor Temples; cruise sails to Esna.
Day 9 – Aug 4 – Temple of Horus at Edfu, tea on deck, Temple of Kom Ombo, sail to Aswan.
Day 10 – Aug 5 – Temple of Isis at Philae; optional Nubian Village excursion.
Day 11 – Aug 6 – Overday trip to Abu Simbel; fly Aswan → Cairo; overnight in Cairo.
Day 12 – Aug 7 – Coptic Cairo: Holy Family cave & Cathedral in the Rock. Tour ends late morning with option to extend or transfer to airport.

🗺️ Detailed Itinerary – 2027 Solar Eclipse Tour with Mara House

This itinerary has been carefully designed to combine Egypt’s most iconic sites with rare private visits and the once-in-a-lifetime experience of the 2027 Solar Eclipse. Nothing has been left to chance — you’ll be guided, supported, and cared for every step of the way.

🌍 Phase A – Cairo (3 nights)

Day 1 – July 27: Arrival in Cairo

  • Airport pickup arranged by me and my team.

  • Assistance with entry visas, customs, immigration, and fast-tracking.

  • Transfer to our hotel in Cairo.

Day 2 – July 28: Giza & the Grand Egyptian Museum

  • Morning visit to the Giza Plateau.

  • Private visit between the paws of the Sphinx.

  • Refreshments break (fruit, snacks, drinks).

  • Visit the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).

  • Afternoon rest at the hotel.

  • Evening option: explore Khan El Khalili Bazaar and enjoy coffee at the famous El Fishawy Café. (By night the Khan is full of locals — many shops open until midnight or later.)

Day 3 – July 29: Saqqara & the Great Pyramid

  • Morning visit to Saqqara: Step Pyramid, the Serapeum, and surrounding monuments.

  • Lunch and rest at the hotel in Cairo.

  • Evening: exclusive 2-hour private visit inside the Great Pyramid of Giza.

Day 4 – July 30: Museums & Transfer to Luxor

  • Morning visit to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square (if still operating and worthwhile — many Tutankhamun treasures have already moved to GEM).

  • Alternative site will be chosen if necessary.

  • Lunch, then visit the Royal Mummies Gallery at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.

  • Late afternoon: transfer directly from the museum to Cairo Airport for our flight to Luxor.

✈️ Optional extra days can be arranged before the main tour, including visits to the Pharaonic Village, Medieval Cairo, or the Civilization Museum (for those who’d like longer in Cairo). Ask me for details.

🌍 Phase B – Luxor & the Eclipse (3 nights)

Day 4 – July 30: Arrival in Luxor

  • Transfer from Luxor Airport to your hotel.

Day 5 – July 31: Luxor West Bank

  • Early morning exploration: Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut’s Temple, Tombs of the Nobles, Medinet Habu, and the Workers’ Village.

  • Tour paced to suit the group.

Day 6 – August 1: Abydos & Dendera (Private Visit)

  • Day trip to Abydos & Dendera Temples.

  • Private visit to the Osirion at Abydos — opened for the first time in 2024.

  • Both temples are among the best preserved, most colourful, and most magical in Egypt.

Day 7 – August 2: Eclipse Day!

  • Experience the 2027 Solar Eclipse in Luxor, the longest of the century.

  • In the evening (around 17:30), board our Nile Cruise boat for dinner and overnight stay.

🌍 Phase C – Nile Cruise to Aswan & Abu Simbel, then Cairo (5 nights)

Day 8 – August 3: Luxor Temples & Cruise Sailing

  • Morning visits to Karnak & Luxor Temples.

  • Lunch onboard.

  • Cruise departs Luxor at 13:00, sailing to Esna to pass through the lock.

Day 9 – August 4: Edfu & Kom Ombo

  • Morning visit to the Temple of Horus at Edfu.

  • Afternoon tea on deck as we sail.

  • Evening visit to the Temple of Kom Ombo.

  • Cruise continues to Aswan.

Day 10 – August 5: Aswan Highlights

  • Bus and short motorboat ride to the Temple of Isis at Philae.

  • Optional motorboat trip further up the Nile to a Nubian Village and handicrafts market (weather permitting).

Day 11 – August 6: Abu Simbel & Flight to Cairo

  • Overday trip to the iconic Abu Simbel temples (recommended only for those who can manage the southern heat).

  • Afternoon flight from Aswan back to Cairo.

  • Overnight in Cairo.

Day 12 – August 7: Coptic Cairo & Farewell

  • Morning tour of Coptic Cairo, including:

    • The underground cave where the Holy Family stayed during their flight into Egypt.

    • The famous Cave Church in the Moqattam Hills near Saladin’s Citadel (also called the Cathedral in the Rock — a vast church carved entirely into the mountain).

  • Tour ends late morning.

  • Options: stay another night in Cairo, or transfer directly to Cairo Airport for your international departure.
